The New York Photo Association (NYPA) was established in 2008 and has since become a member of the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). 

In subsequent years, the recognition of photography as a legitimate art form has increased, resulting in an expansion of the Society's activities. NYPA has distinguished itself as a respected artistic organization by organizing seminars, photographic exhibitions, excursions, and discussions.

 As an ILFIAP representative in the United States, NYPA successfully processed a total of nine FIAP distinctions between the years 2010 and 2017. Furthermore, the Association submitted five applications for FIAP Patronage from 2015 to 2018, which included notable events such as the 1st Oceanic-Atlantic Circuit-USA and Atlantic 2017. Additional events include the 2nd PSA-MET International in 2017 and the 3rd PSA-MET International in 2018, as well as the International Salon New York (ISNY) from 2019 through 2025, and the New York Photo Fair (NYPF), NY Queens Circuit, New York Circuit, and NYPA Circuit, all within the same timeframe.
